After the demise of underground legends DEAD MOOD in fall 2006, nobody was surprised to hear that founders Fred and Toody Cole had lost little time in starting a new band. They recruited drummer Kelly Halliburton in April 2007, and soon the PIERCED ARROWS were up and running, playing live shows in the Northwest and recording songs for upcoming releases.
"Long shadows and primordial distortion compete for attention within that retro mold—somewhere between the Animals and ? and the Mysterians—but there are sturdy enough songs at the core to make it more than just an exercise in style. This kind of band sounds best steeped in beer and sweat, so be sure to crowd as close to the stage as humanly possible." - Philadelphia Weekly (Doug Walle )
No bells and whistles here, just straight up raunchy riffs and melodies that a make you want to chug some Jim Beam and ride Gravedigger into the night. All monster truck comparisons aside, this Philly foursome would not be out of place if they were released on Merge back in 1992. With heavy guitars reminiscent of Carolina's early 90s output, think Superchunk or Polvo but maybe a whole lot drunker.
