Tune in to Idle Noise on Wednesday morning from 7 - 9 a.m. for 2 hours of nonstop KNOX, the music of Chris Knox, New Zealand's celebrated rock star, cartoonist, and director. To honor the release of the Toy Love "Live at the Gluepot" album on Goner, Trixie and Mike will be spinning tunes from Chris Knox's inimitable oeuvre with selections from early bands The Enemy and Toy Love to his later stuff with Tall Dwarfs, The Nothing, and his wry and distorted solo material. Also included in the show will be songs from Stitched Up and Stroke, compilation albums with bands and artists from Yo La Tengo to The Mountain Goats to Jeff Mangum and Hamish Kilgour covering a range Knox tunes. Stroke was released on Merge Records following Knox's debilitating stroke in 2009. in 2001 Knox's song "Not Given Lightly" was declared New Zealand's 13th best song of all time by Australasian Performing Right Association (APRA)
