The Egg
Electronica / Breakbeat / Jam Band
http://www.myspace.com/theeggmusic
The Egg are a band well known to festival audiences, having played many UK festivals including Glastonbury and The Big Chill as well as Rustlers Valley (South Africa) and also in Holland, Switzerland (Montreux Jazz), France, Turkey and Ibiza. 2007 has taken them further afield to Australia for the Future Music festival (March '07) and to Brazil for the 1200 festival (May '07), also Morocco, Sweden, Czech Republic, Ireland and USA. 2008 saw 3 visits to USA including a 3 week tour and and recently a sold out show in New York City's Highline Ballroom, Large festivals already lined up for 2009 starting in Miami.
The Egg have released 3 albums; the 1st two on China Records 'Albumen' (get it?) in 1996, then 'Travelator' in 1998 and most recently 'Forwards' in 2004 on Squarepeg Records, licensed around the world, including Spectacle Entertainment (neurodisc) in USA
Their first Album 'Albumen' was more strictly dance/post acid jazz, funk/ambient instrumentals, played live, and reflecting the live set. The 2nd album 'Travelator', was more influenced by Big Beat, more heavily club orientated and had more songs. it was produced by Tim Holmes.
Recently the band's third album 'Forwards' has seen a more reflective slower sound, but also in places heavier and rockier than anything before. Also more of a psychedelic warmth holding different eclectic influences together. However, live, the band have kept their full on dance and festival style fully intact, with a full interactive film and video synchronised show with visual created by Todd Graft & Mischa @ www.microchunk.com), Max Hattler, and Maff from the bands own 8 & 16mm films and flash animations. Recent reviews suggest they were like 'New Order floating on a cloud' (Observer Music Monthly). BBC music review
Sonic Spank
Electronic
http://www.facebook.com/sonicspank
SONIC SPANK was formed in early 2009 by two members of the Philadelphia based electro-jazz-rock band, MJ PROJECT. The duo seamlessly blends House, Hip Hop, Jungle, Drum & Bass, Jazz, Funk and Dubstep beats while incorporating live keyboard and guitar improvisation on top. Band members Ian McGuire and Ben Karp have been friends since Preschool and have collaborated on music since the beginning of High School which explains their undeniable chemistry on stage and innocent perversion. SONIC SPANK penetrates the line between the craft of DJing and virtuoso instrumental musicianship.
SONIC SPANK has already made appearances at regional clubs, parties, radio stations and festivals during the 6 months of their existence with an overall enthusiastic response from audiences. Ian McGuire and Ben Karp have also performed with members of The Disco Biscuits, Brothers Past, Lotus, Orchard Lounge, Biodiesel, KJ Sawka, The Pnuma Trio, Sonkin, RAQ, Calvin Weston, The Ally and The Yellowjackets to name a few.

We like music just as much as you and always have trouble answering that age old question, "What kind of music do you listen to?" We know we like funk. We know we like jazz. We know we like beats from all over the world and electronic grooves from all over the hard drive. When it comes down to it - it's all that amazing music in between that keeps us interested and keeps us playing music. Think of it like a never ending map of the unknown; our vehicle is the band and we plan on seeing it all. Check us out at home in DC or Baltimore - or on the road as we travel to new places to spread our music and meet new folks.
