Mom Jeans.: Formed in Berkeley, California while studying at university, the group wasted no time in putting together their debut release, a self-titled two-track single, in 2014. A handful of demos followed before the band focused on recording their debut album. Recorded by Ryan Ellery (Just Friends, Meet Me in Montauk) and originally self-released in 2016, Best Buds was eventually picked up by indie label Counter Intuitive after earning the band plaudits for their slacker-styled, emo-tinged punk rock. Eschewing the usual route of heading out on tour to capitalize on the release, the band decided to stay in Berkeley to finish their studies, playing just select dates. A split single with Graduating Life was issued in 2017, alongside the split EP NOW That's What I Call Music, Vol. 420, which also featured Prince Daddy & the Hyena and Pictures of Vernon. The group returned in 2018 with their sophomore release, the Ellery helmed Puppy Love. Issued once again by Counter Intuitive, the group headed out on tour to support the release, with dates taking in the US, U.K. and Europe.

Origami Angel: Two-piece indie emo rock group from the greater Washington DC area. Bringing more heavy guitars and drumbeats to the Emo genre

Save Face: New Jersey-based rock band Save Face have released their full-length debut, Merci. The album is the band’s first release for Epitaph. With its catchy-yet-off-kilter and viscerally charged sound, Merci is a concept album about an addict dealing with post-rehab relationship struggles and an eventual paranoia-fueled meltdown. Partly inspired by the theatricality of such bands as Queen, Merci is driven by a dramatic tension that reflects Save Face’s mission of making emotionally complex, multi-faceted art.

Pool Kids: Florida-born mathy emo band with lots of hair and lots of shred
