Coltrane discussion with writer Tom Moon and producer Steve Rowland about their projects on this favorite son of Philadelphia
About this event

Hosted by the Philadelphia Jazz Legacy Project and the 7th in an online series focusing on the many aspects of jazz in Philadelphia, past and present. This discussion is about two projects about John Coltrane by producer Steve Rowland and writer/musician Tom Moon. Rowland's Tell Me How Long Trane's Been Gone was hailed as a "must-hear radio documentary" when it came out. Moon's documentary film Coltrane: The Philadelphia Years that he directed with Rob Armstrong looked at the role the city played in Trane's musical development. Lastly, singer/writer Suzanne Cloud has been keeping track of and will discuss the current status of the Coltrane House through her Coltrane Watch Blog on the Jazz Philadelphia site.
