Space Whale Orchestra - Born into Beauty album release show!
Born into Beauty, the second studio album from SWO, was released digitally on bandcamp and all streaming platforms on June 4th.

Space Whale Orchestra is an improvisational chamber music ensemble sown and grown in Philadelphia, drawn together over a love of collective music making and sonic experimentation. The group continues to explore the borders of music and the meaning of freedom, always striving to keep their sound new and evolving.
Their decade of collaborative exploration and research creates an unparalleled sensitivity and musical empathy amongst the core members of the group. Frequently seen improvising with musicians and dancers, SWO continues to strive for a cohesive and ever-changing sound that candidly highlights the unique personalities and varied musical influences of each individual player.

Erica Corbo on piano. Erica is a solo artist, event curator for WF9 and others, composer, and music director for dance and music organizations such as the Philadelphia Jazz Project and the Philadelphia Jazz Tap Ensemble. She loves traveling to different dimensions, making things, and using her imagination.

Steve Davit on saxes. Steve is the sax man for Marian Hill, solo artist, producer, and creativity coach. He is also a proud stay-at-home dad, dedicated lucid dreamer, and game master/designer.

Connor Przybyszewski on trombone. Connor is a member of Impressionist, plays in the Delco cover band The Whitewalls, and is an avid reader, presidential historian, and librarian.
Mick Ricereto on clarinets. Mick creates solo material under the name Hollywood Juniper. He is an in-demand kitchen and product designer, bicycle lover, funky music fan, and avid sketch and watercolorist.

Captain Corbo’s Warp Factor 9 is a monthly concert series created, curated, and produced by pianist and artist, Erica Corbo. Held in a small piano studio in West Philadelphia, the series features small creative ensembles of all genres in an intimate community setting. WF9 creates a much needed home for local avant-garde and jazz acts, as well as for solo pianists and piano-focused ensembles. In pairing the avant-garde with more mainstream genres, Erica hopes to break down the unnecessary divides placed between musical styles, artistic disciplines, peoples, and all other things.
