We now have just one more show left for the rest of 2026!

Today, we took a moment to remember September 11th and those who lost their lives. We also honored those we recently lost in the entertainment industry: Barry Melrose, Andy “The Butcher” Williams, Craig Douglas, Brian Duckworth, and Tony Gatlif. We remember their lives and the impact they left behind.

For global music news, we talked about Kenya’s push to bring the Grammy Awards to Nairobi, as well as Gravity Falls creator Alex Hirsch coming to Philadelphia at Drexel next week!

For our quick food segment, we asked: What new restaurants are we waiting in line for? Recently opened in Philly, we have Anh Em, Bai Cici, Manna Bakery, and Carolyn’s Modern Vietnamese. Coming up, Kamora’s Bakery is opening tomorrow, while Adda Philly and Ayat are among the highly anticipated openings we’re waiting for.

Since it’s September, we also played Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You”...very quickly, as a joke! But there was a reason for the Mariah appearance: today marks 25 years since the release of Mariah Carey’s Glitter soundtrack.

It’s also award season, so we played artists being recognized by some of their home countries’ biggest music awards:

Bangladesh: We played Rehaan Rasul and Avanti Sithi’s “Mayapakhi,” Avanti ( অবন্তী দেব সিঁথি ) was nominated for Best Female Singer at the 2026 Meril-Prothom Alo Awards.

Lebanon: Farah Nakhoul ( فرح نخول ) recently won Best TV Theme Song at the 2026 Murex d’Or for her performance on Lobby El Gharam ( لوبي الغرام ), and we played her new song “Machghoul.”

Nigeria: We played Ṣẹwà and Braye’s “Why - Remix.” Ṣẹwà picked up four nominations at the upcoming 18th Headies, taking place in October in Toronto.

Malaysia: We played DOLLA, the four-member girl group nominated for Best Pop Song at Anugerah Industri Muzik (AIM25) for “QUESTION.” The awards are coming up September 26th in Kuching.

Moon Tang made her Philly radio debut today! With the upcoming CASH Golden Sail Music Awards, we’ll be watching to see if she makes the official nominations.

Finally, we played two tracks that had literally just dropped from TINH HÀ "SAY HI", the massive Vietnamese music survival show. We also talked about the Philadelphia connection behind one of the songs, “LAVIEM,” with Philly native Danny Chung having demoed the track.
