The Beat, better known as The English Beat here in North America are a fundamental 2-tone ska band founded back in 1978. After decades of silence they reformed in 2006 and have been ranking full stop ever since. Their special brand of ska with a real lounge sound, and a rock and roll vibe, has made them one of England's standout ska acts. The English Beat are a band that have really defined a genre, and are must see act for anyone interested in English ska, punk rock, and reggae alike.
