Formed in the 70s in England, the Damned got their start opening for acts like the Sex Pistols. Since then they have evolved into one of the forerunners of the gothic-punk genre, having recorded ten albums by 2008. Lead guitarist Captain Sensible is playing NY dates this week with Fred Armisen before their Thursday gig at the TLA.
