Best known as the drummer for Philly-born rock band The War on Drugs, Charlie Hall is also a professed Miles Davis fanatic who has been paying homage to the iconic trumpeter’s electric era for more then two decades. For this performance he’ll recreate the tape-edited grooves and blistering eclecticism of Davis’s polarizing 1972 classic On the Corner. Created using an all-star cast of players including guitarists John McLaughlin and Reggie Lucas, keyboardist Herbie Hancock and Chick Corea, and drummers Jack DeJohnette, Billy Hart, and Al Foster, among others, the album blended influences from contemporary artists like Sly and the Family Stone and James Brown.
