Kishi Bashi, the solo project of Kaoru Ishibashi, has released one of the most distinctive albums of 2012 with his life-affirming "151a" (pronounced ichi-go-ichi-e, a Japanese phrase meaning "one place, one time"). Ishibashi is a music veteran, being a touring member of Regina Spektor's live band and of Montreal. However, he serves as a one-man band in his solo act, juggling layered vocals, beatboxing, and violin gymnastics. Be sure to catch a performance that will no doubt be as charming as it is unique.
