Framewerk on the guest mix! Wow! So in the spring when we all went into Covid lockdown, one of my heroes, John Digweed, started spinning these near weekly sets on Facebook live and now Mixcloud on Saturdays 4pm EST. It was through these sets that i began to discover new producers and new music at a rate that i was discovering them when i first started doing in 1995. In short I fell in love again and hard! One of the productions duos that i fell hard for was Framewerk, who i realized through intensive sleuthing, had been a thing since 2013. They had produced a lot of their own tracks but some of them, the ones that stuck out to my old head ears were the remixes of tunes from the late 90's and early 2000s.These pieces runt through the filter of breakbeats and soft melodic electronica became the sound for the moment... at least for me. So i reached out to them and they kindly responded with a delightful one hour mix that you got to hear today.
Please continue to tune in and make requests for trance classics from with late 90's and 2000's and i will oblige as i can from my collections. Clearly its getting less cumbersome on Audacity and the "mixing" has been easier, but still not crisp the way i would prefer. I guess i am , at least, an analogue girl. (turntables that is) I look forward to being able to be with you LIVE. Hopefully summer?!! In the meantime feel free to catch up with me on Instagram @djroogirl
or email me
Thanks for continuing to be supportive!

Dj Roo started at WKDU in 1995 while studying Photography at Drexel. She was a regular until 2008, when she took a leave of absence to get married and raise her family. She spun the morning drive for years and is inspired by dance music greats like BT, Sasha, John Digweed, Danny Howells, Dave Seamen, Nick Warren and Hybrid. Weekly sets are a knitting together of dance music classics, extensive back catalog of b-sides of underground beats and new tunes from today, proving that great music never gets old.
