The Politics of Dancing on Fri 6/17/22

Delighted to share todays show with producer extrodinare , Nick Muir. Nick is the other half of Bedrock who has produced such bangers as , For What You Dream Of and Heaven Scent. Want to thank the folks at PfG podcast for sharing this mix with me to bring to you. Check them out at https://soundcloud.com/pfg18
There is a full summer's worth of mixes for you to enjoy!
For the opening of the show I wanted to highlight the stunning vocal talent of Julee Cruise who passed away this past week. It was her voice that gave Hybrid's Wide Angle the distinctive soaring emotive sound! (of course you may remember her talents from Twin Peaks's opening credit sequence. "If I survive" became Hybrid's biggest commercial success in 1999... and I enjoy the irony that the song lives on.... Survive Indeed lady Julee!

*** Programming NOTE- Will be off the month of July.**** Will return in August :)

Dj Roo started at WKDU in 1995 while studying Photography at Drexel. She was a regular until 2008, when she took a leave of absence to get married and raise her family. She spun the morning drive for years and is inspired by dance music greats like BT, Sasha, John Digweed, Danny Howells, Dave Seamen, Nick Warren and Hybrid. Weekly sets are a knitting together of dance music classics, extensive back catalog of b-sides of underground beats and new tunes from today, proving that great music never gets old. Relive the club nights of the 1990s and 2000's. Check out her instagram- @DJROOGIRL
